We were back on the Morning Show talking about property price and market trends

Dealing with debt, how it actually works…

Currently you could say the world is divided into the ‘haves’ the ‘have nots’ and the ‘have not paid for what they haves’. Today I’ll explain how to deal with debt when you run into problems, to do this I interviewed a few trusted sources who work as actual collectors. This is such a huge topic that I’ll break it down into two halves, this week we look at the early stages of arrears. Getting into financial trouble doesn’t always come with a bang, often you drift into it over time due to paycuts, higher taxes and spent savings. This is our first area, it’s called ‘pre-arrears’ and it gets very little little attention.

We were asked to comment on the recent CSO figures which showed that prices are still dropping but that there is perhaps a different dynamic in cities. In Dublin (the only city separately considered by the CSO) house prices have not dropped for two months in a row – actually rising.

TV3 – Ireland AM, 23rd May 2012

In this piece Noleen Blackwell from FLAC and Karl spoke to Mark and Sinead about mortgage arrears and figures that were due out from the Central Bank. This was our first time to go on Ireland AM and as always everybody was lovely but not afraid to offer challenging debate on the topic.

Sunday paper mentions 11th March 2012, Sunday Times (x2) & Sunday Business Post

We were quoted in three separate articles in the Sunday papers this week.

The Sunday Times mentioned the report we did with MyHome.ie on property prices for investors (here), the full report is available over on MortgageBrokers.ie on the blog (here). Our view is that for investors there is still not a highly compelling reason to get into property.
