New Companies Act 2014

A new Companies Act came into effect on June 1st 2015.

One of the most significant changes contained in the new act is the fact that if you have a company or are setting one up you only need have one director, previously you needed to have two, although you still require a separate Company Secretary. There is a lot more to it than just this of course as this is one of the biggest pieces of legislation ever produced since the foundation  of the state.

If you already have a company you can convert to the new format but you still have 18 months to do that so need to panic just yet. All of this information can be found on the Companies Registration office website at www.cro.ie.

Or if you have any queries please feel free to give me a call.
